USTA Nominates Carson as 2005 First Round Venue
The USTA has announced that it intends to stage the 2005 United States vs Croatia Davis Cup by BNP Paribas first round tie, March 4-6, at The Home Depot Center in Carson, California. Tickets for the three-day, best-of-five match series will go on sale to the general public in January and can be purchased by calling (888) 484-USTA. The 2005 first round will mark the first time since 2000 that Davis Cup will be played in California.

Davis Cup is the largest and oldest men's international team tennis event. Andy Roddick, the 2003 US Open champion, and Bob and Mike Bryan, the 2003 French Open doubles champions, are expected to the lead the United States team, while Croatia is likely to be led by Mario Anãiç and Ivan Ljubiãiç, who paired to win the bronze medal in men's doubles at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. Play will consist of two singles matches Friday, one doubles match Saturday and two more singles matches Sunday.
I have arranged for Croatian fans to sit in a large section together so we can cheer for our Homeland. There are $125.00 tickets (Rows 27-30) and $250.00 tickets (Rows 14-26) available for us to individualy purchase. Most, of course will want to buy the cheaper tickets and it'll be first come first serve on those. But if there is a huge request for those $125.00 tickets, hopefully they'll sell us some of the $250.00 seats for $125.00. Here is the seating chart for the Home Depot Center (PDF File) and I've been told a block of seats in sections 20 & 21 will be blocked of for Croatian fans.
Tickets are available for the 3-day package. I have heard you can buy 1-day event tickets closer to March. But I am not sure. Please call Kelly Cheeseman at (213) 742-7218 for that request.

Let me stress it is the easiest to buy tickets on the internet or by faxing it in. Everyone who faxs in their order form will receive a courtesy call from a rep. to let you know your order was processed.
All tickets will be mailed to you unless you miss the deadline. In that case the tickets will be waiting for you at Will Call.
