U.S. Government Unveils New Design for the $100 Note Government to Currency Users: Know Its Features So You Can Know It’s Real
WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 21, 2010) – Officials from the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the United States Secret Service today unveiled the new design for the $100 note. Complete with advanced technology to combat counterfeiting, the new design for the $100 note retains the traditional look of U.S. currency.
“As with previous U.S. currency redesigns, this note incorporates the best technology available to ensure we’re staying ahead of counterfeiters,” said Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner.
“When the new design $100 note is issued on February 10, 2011, the approximately 6.5 billion older design $100s already in circulation will remain legal tender,” said Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board Ben S. Bernanke. “U.S. currency users should know they will not have to trade in their older design $100 notes when the new ones begin circulating.”

Electric car XD The extensive experience in vehicle production enables DOK-ING to soon include a new creation in their range of products - an electrical city car. Constructors and engineers of DOK-ING have been working on that research and development project for the last four years, and have succeeded in singlehandedly creating a new electric automobile.
Three seats car has been designed primarily as an ecologically acceptable vehicle to be used for city driving, i.e. a second family car. The whole project has been thought of and developed at DOK-ING while an industrial designer, exclusively responsible for the car image, signs the car design.
Customers will have a choice between a cheaper solution consisting of lead battery with lesser autonomy and a new generation battery made of lithium - iron - phosphate (LiFeP04), light, ecologically acceptable and non-combustible. Following two hours charging, the car will be able to cover 250 km. The price will vary according to the chosen battery, desired autonomy and the car equipment. Do donošenja drugog kurikuluma, koji će biti u skladu s ustavnim i demokratskim načelima, predavat će se sadržaji zdravstvenog odgoja koji su se provodili do početka školske godine 2012. /2013.
Ustavni sud ukinuo je kurikulum zdravstvenog odgoja i odredio da će se do donošenja drugog kurikuluma, u skladu s ustavnim i demokratskim načelima, predavati sadržaji zdravstvenog odgoja koji su se provodili do početka školske godine 2012. /2013.
Država nije na uravnotežen način uskladila sadržaje zdravstvenog odgoja s ustavnim pravom i slobodom roditelja u odgoju djece. Proces uređivanja i implementacije događao se na način koji djelomice nije u skladu s demokratskim načelima koje je država dužna poštovati i provoditi. Taj proces pokazao je značajan nedostatak demokratskog pluralističkog pristupa.
Neprihvatljivo je da pri donošenju propisa takvog sadržaja i pravne snage nije prethodilo iznošenje mišljenja vijeća roditelja, nije bilo uključeno Nacionalno vijeće za odgoj i obrazovanje, a nije bila provedena ni javna rasprava, osobito o spolnom odgoju, a znalo se da će to izazvati kontroverzije.više…vecernji.hr

Due to field re-construction at the "Field of the Dreams" the tournament has been moved to Daniels Field in San Pedro! As you may know this was the field of many Croatian Soccer Tournaments in the past and drew large crowds. The tournament will have a new format for just this year!
Instead of playing a small goals tournament, we will have 2 full size 11 on 11 soccer games played at Daniels Field. There will be a Veterans game at 9:30am for players over the age of 35 and a Competitive game at 11:30am for players under the age of 35.
BBQ LUNCH will be served from 11am-2pm with fresh cevapi and sausages!!!!!
Once the competitive game is done, the kids will have 1 hour to play on the field.

2013 04 19 — Švedski kralj Karl Gustaf i kraljica Silvia posjetili su jučer zadarske Morske orgulje i Pozdrav suncu, nakon čega su se preko rive uputili do Sv. Mankind has always sought solutions to its problems. The evil that is inherent in us, which we call the original sin, has contributed to so many acts of wars, violence, corruption, intolerance, abuse, deceit, hatred, strife and misery of all kind. The essential question is how can we overcome evil? Confrontation or revenge, avoiding or running away from the reality, drowning in complacency, indulging in self pity or harboring grudges and accusations against God is not the solution. Evil cannot be overcome by evil. The problem of evil is present in all religions and philosophies. Is there somebody who can save us from evil? One who is poisoned needs help.
We celebrated the mysteries of Christ’s passion, death and resurrection. One of the worst evils came to Jesus Christ. He was condemned and crucified by our sins. But Jesus converted our sinfulness into our salvation. He becomes our serum against the poison of evil and death. There is a story in the Old Testament about when the Israelites were attacked by serpents and Moses to save them erected a bronze snake on a pole. Whoever was bitten by a snake and then looked upon the erected snake on the pole was saved (cf. Jn 3, 14; Num 21, 8-9). The symbol of the snake on the pole in medicine is allegory of evil, sin and death crucified in Jesus on the cross. Through his resurrection, Jesus has reversed our sinfulness and mortality into our life of grace. He became our Savior. His sacrifice would not have meaning without his love for us. His resurrection is the victory of his love. Therefore, he is giving us his new commandment of love as a serum against any evil. Let us be part of Jesus’ love and reform our lives in order to be the reformers of the world around us. In this spirit I wish you all HAPPY EASTER!

2013 03 03 — City Attorney Carmen “Nuch” Trutanich will participate in a few low-key political events Monday as he heads into Tuesday’s election, the campaign reported.
Trutanich’s mother, Esther, passed away Saturday after several years of illness, prompting the candidate to temporarily suspend the heavy campaign schedule he had planned for today and Monday.
“Except for the understandable limits on the personal involvement of the City Attorney at this time, the Trutanich reelection campaign continues to aggressively move forward,” said chief strategist Rick Taylor. “We are extremely confident voters will be good to us on election day.”
Trutanich and members of his family will be voting at 7:05 am Tuesday at his polling place, UCFW Local 770 Meeting Hall, Blue Table, at 25949 Belle Porte Ave., Harbor City.
Tuesday evening, after the polls close at 8 pm, the Trutanich campaign will start up its victory party at Rocco’s Tavern, 12514 Ventura Blvd., Studio City.

Gotovina: Ponosan sam na "Maslenicu"
General Ante Gotovina izjavio je danas kako je ponosan na Vojno-redarstvenu operaciju "Maslenica '93" , jer je ona doprinijela pobjedi u Domovinskom ratu.

To Our Members, The Croatian American Women's Club is interested in helping one of our own in a worthy endeavor that highlights our Croatian heritage and identity, and is centered around a Croatian-American woman. Brenda Brkusic, Emmy winning producer, filmmaker and executive producer of program development and national productions for PBS SoCal is co-producing a new film, with fellow Croatian American Maria Ramas, called “Mia: A Dancer’s Odyssey”. The film is supported by two local non-profit organizations, Slavenska Dance Preservation and PBS SoCaL. The film will air on HRT (Croatian TV) and nationally on PBS stations in the U.S. in the coming year. The filmmakers are in need of finishing funds to complete the project for PBS.
It is a beautiful and emotional film about a famous Croatian ballerina, Mia Corak Slavenska (Maria’s mother). It focuses on Mia leaving Croatia, becoming famous in America, the relationship between mother and daughter and longing to return home. Unfortunately, Mia only returned home after her death. Famous actress Blythe Danner performs the voice over in the film. Previously, the film received a prestigious grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and many individuals and organizations in the US and Croatia have already supported the film financially, including the U.S. and Croatian governments. Support of this film will help to ensure that it reaches millions of people through national broadcasts on PBS. This is an opportunity to spotlight yet another woman of exceptional talent. In addition, we are helping two Croatian American women tell a story about a Croatian American woman. RIT/ACMT Summer Abroad Program in Croatia
The Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) campus in Croatia, the American College of Management and Technology (RIT/ACMT), offers two special summer programs: a five-week Dubrovnik-based program and a 25-day travel program, Footsteps through the Adriatic. Dubrovnik-based program:
Students will spend five weeks in the stunning city of Dubrovnik and can still expect to make progress toward their degree completion. All courses are taught in English and follow the same curriculum as courses offered at the RIT campus in Rochester, New York.
When
Classes will run from June 3 – July 5, 2013 at our Dubrovnik Campus. The program also includes excursions outside of the classroom as well as extracurricular trips around the region.
Academics
Students have an option of enrolling in up to three classes during the summer program. Courses are designed with both RIT and non-RIT students in mind. Students from across the U.S. and throughout Europe study side-by-side in this unique learning environment. Students take pre-approved courses that may be applied toward their degree while also experiencing the beauty and culture of Croatia. Upon successful completion of the coursework, students eligible for credit will receive an official transcript from Rochester Institute of Technology.

ŽELJKO MUCKO was born January 1st, 1959 in Koprivnica. In 1978 he completed the School of Applied Art, Department of Painting, in Zagreb under professors Josip Biffel, Francina Dolenec, and Danijel Zabcic. He studied at the Academy of Applied Arts in Belgrade for one year, and finished his studies in 1984 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb under professor Raul Goldonio. In the same year he received an annual award from the Academy of Fine Arts Committee for his master's thesis. As a scholar of Austrian Government, in 1994 he entered into "Internationale Sommerakademic fur Bildende Kunst" in Salzburg under Nancy Spero and Leon Golub. Od 2012. za građane u škripcu Zakon o stečaju potrošača Stručnjaci su skloni tome da u novom zakonu vođenje bankrota građana preuzmu javni ovršitelji, dok bi stečajni upravitelji i dalje radili samo s pravnim osobama
Hoće li stečaj postati izlaz za građane pogođene velikom potrošnjom, dugovima, gubitkom posla, manjkom prihoda za otplatu kredita, za one koji u krizi ne mogu do novog posla te ne plaćaju režije, postat će jasnije ove jeseni. Zakon o stečaju potrošača naziv je novog propisa koji bi i u Hrvatskoj od 2012. trebao regulirati pitanja stečaja fizičkih osoba.iscrpnije...poslovni.hr
Posljednje četiri godine HDZ zna samo za poraze. Stranka je do održavanja unutarstranačkih izbora u svibnju 2012. bila gotovo uništena. Bilo je malo onih koji su uopće vjerovali da će stranka, izložena lavini negativnih zbivanja, a prije svega sudskim procesima zbog niza korupcijskih afera, uopće opstati. Tako je bilo sve do izbora za Europski parlament, kada HDZ, na sveopće iznenađenje, ne samo da ustaje iz politički mrtvih, nego tijesno, ali ipak pobjeđuje listu vladajuće SDP-ove koalicije i osvaja više mandata.
2013 04 19 — Švedski kralj Karl Gustaf i kraljica Silvia posjetili su jučer zadarske Morske orgulje i Pozdrav suncu, nakon čega su se preko rive uputili do Sv. Donata, te preko Kalelarge u Muzej Antičkog stakla. Lokacije koje su kralj i kraljica razgledali još prije nekoliko mjeseci odabrao je švedski protokol, a prve impresije švedskog kraljevskog para o Zadru su izvrsne, doznali smo od hrvatskih predstavnika koji su ih pratili tijekom njihovog posjeta.
Dubrovnik, 02.02.2013. — U kazalištu Marina Držića održana je svečana sjednica Gradskog vijeća povodom proslave blagdana dubrovačkog zaštitnika sv. Vlaha i dana Grada Dubrovnika.Uz čelnike gradske i županijske vlasti prisustvovali su predsjednik Hrvatskog sabora Josip Leko, potpredsjednica Vlade RH Milanka Opačić te ministrica kulture Andrea Zlatar Violić. Gradonačelnik Vlahušić zahvalio se uspješnom vođenju sjednica predsjednici Gradskog vijeća Olgi Muratti i Nenadu Vekariću.
